Collins organized in 1906, is a city in Covington County, Mississippi, United States. The population is 2,761. Collins is strategically located at the crossroads of Highways 49 and 84 and is currently experiencing a tremendous growth rate in both business and industry. It is the county seat of Covington County. Collins was also the birthplace of film legend Dana Andrews and Gerald McRaney, TV and film star (Simon and Simon, Major Dad, Deadwood) and home to him and his wife, TV and film star Delta Burke. Collins is also the birthplace and home of NFL star Correll Buckhaulter and former NBA star Randolph Keys. |
